I seriously have a lot of deep rooted respect and admiration for single moms because they have guts and a lot of it. I don't mean those mothers who got pregnant and tried aborting the child and because their abortion attempts were unsuccessful, had no choice but to keep the child.
No. I'm talking about those women that once they discover they are pregnant immediately decide to keep the child even though the father of the child refuses to take responsibility. It takes a lot of guts to be able to put your life on hold, to stop or pause your education, to bear the shame and insults family and the public will pour on you just because you want to keep your child.
I remember one time I thought I was pregnant because I had unprotected sex and my period was late. The first thought that ran through my mind was abortion. I had no guts to keep the child if I was pregnant. I thought what would my family, relatives and friends say? Having a child outside marriage was something I wasn't willing to do. It turned out I wasn't pregnant and my period was just late. That was when I started admiring women who stand their ground and keep their children even with the rate of abortions these days.
Single moms should be respected because they are heroes no matter what you might think. If you think its easy, get pregnant outside marriage and try keeping it or get your babe pregnant (when you ain't ready financially and otherwise to get married) and tell her to keep it.
Single moms rock!
